TAX SALES

Under Part XI of the Ontario Municipal Act, the legislation requires the Municipality to offer the lands of a delinquent taxpayer for sale.  The purpose of tax sale statutes is to assure the collection of taxes by municipalities so that the tax burden may be equitably shared by all taxpayers, and also to bring some finality to the process of tax collection.
