COMMUNITY PARKS & RECREATION ASSOCIATIONS

There are six active volunteer Parks and Recreation Associations in the Township of Tiny.  They play a significant role in programming, developing and maintaining facilities and parkland.  The Associations were incorporated in 1987 via two municipal bylaws and became legal entities.  They have largely built and operated the Township’s sport and recreation facilities.

These Recreation Associations have historically been self-sufficient and rely on a strong volunteer base to fundraise, build, and manage the township facilities and programs.  In February 2003, lease agreements were signed with the Associations that defined the responsibilities between the Township and the Associations.  In 2008, the six Parks and Recreation Associations and the Township of Tiny began the development of a new agreement.
